Kiana’s House

On any given day in Montgomery County, Tennessee, a child entering into foster care will tag along with a social worker, with their bag of belongings in hand, back to the DCS office. Depending on how long placement takes, that child will be in the DCS office for an extended period of time, potentially adding to their trauma and their angst about what is going to happen to them.

That’s where Kiana’s House comes in! Kiana’s House will be a safe room that will house comfortable living spaces, a pantry and refrigerator stocked with food & snacks, office space for DCS workers, and provide an opportunity for qualified volunteers to work and help make a difference in the lives of these young people.

The property has been purchased, and now all that remains is to build this facility that will benefit hundreds of children who enter foster care in Montgomery County each year, and provide an amazing resource for our local DCS workers! Every dollar donated through the provided link will go towards building Kiana’s House

Behind the name:

Kiana’s House is named after the late Kiana Long, a beautiful soul who loved kids tremendously and volunteered locally at The Tabernacle Church. Kiana fought Sickle Cell Anemia her whole life, but not once did she let it change her sweet demeanor. Everyone that interacted with Kiana loved her kindness and her smile. Kiana was a graduate of Austin Peay State University, a strong advocate for Sickle Cell awareness, a beautiful soul who volunteered her time to teach and mentor children, and an amazing daughter to Kirk & Irene Long.

Her memory will live on as Going Global works with our local DCS to help continue Kiana’s work of making a difference in every child’s life that walks through the doors of Kiana’s House!
